New York - Day 3

Today we left our hotel early and got to the Empire State Building at 7:30am, being almost first in line to gain entry. It was just as well because when we left, the queue was out the door and down the street. We went up to the 86th floor – the building is 102 floors high. Wow, what an amazing site! On the one side it was rather windy and freezing and the other side was quite pleasant.
We then went to Greenwhich Village and wondered around after which we went to book our ticket for our cruise. We had some time to kill again so we caught a bus to Grand Central Station. Now this station is impressive and you know you have arrived in New York when you get here!! We found a little pizzeria where we had lunch after which we headed back down to Pier 83 to wait for our cruise.
Again we were near the front of the line which ensured that we got a good spot on the boat. The cruise took us down the Hudson River, down the west side of Manhattan, out into the New York Harbour to the Statue of Liberty, up the east river passed the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, turning and going back up the Hudson River to Pier 83 where we got off, caught the bus, then the tube and headed back to our hotel. Wow, it was a loooong but very interesting day.

Both Dereck and I have been quite exhausted from all the walking around as we have literally been no-stop from morning until evening. Today, I certainly feel a lot better than I have the last 2 nights, so I think my body clock is starting to feel like it is in the USA!

We are now off to find something for supper.
Hungry signing off ...

86 floors up in the sky, must have been an awesome experience and I am sure you were able to take zillions of stunnings pics. The boat cruise looked like fun with beautiful vistas, although it seemed that the boat was packed to the brim. Have fun on Day 4. Hugs from Desire
